Hello and welcome to the special resources page for those of you who attended our recent workshop. We presented a lot of information in a very short period of time, and some of you may have missed the links and information you needed. Plus, there simply wasn’t enough time to get into all the areas we’d have liked to share. You’ll find some additional resources and information here.

Let’s start with the resources mentioned that you might find to be particularly helpful as you progress through the writing and development of a manuscript.

Scrivener is one of the easiest platforms to use for writing a book. It’s like Microsoft Word (for authors) on steroids. A steep learning curve – but if you get into this using the amazing Learn Scrivener Fast system created by Joseph Michael, you’ll be up and running in no time and wonder why you didn’t start using it for all sorts of writing projects earlier.

It truly is a very special program for authors – we’re sure you’ll love it.

Autocrit is a program that allows you to review your text and get valuable editing feedback on it – a lot like Grammarly, but best used for fiction. I’ve included it as a great resource here because if you’re writing a parable you’ll also find it to be hugely helpful. autocrit.com

KDP Rocket is a wonderful program that enables you to research keywords and categories on Amazon that are applicable for your book and genre. It’s a bit of a learning curve and a paid subscription program, but it’s brilliant. If you don’t wish to do this level of research yourself, we offer several options for uploading your book or boosting an existing book on Amazon using this as part of our practice, which might save you some time and learning. But if you love to do this kind of thing yourself, it’s well worth diving into what KDP Rocket can do for you as a self-publishing author. kdprocket.com

Booksprout is a special place for sharing advance copies of your book in order to get reviews on platforms such as Amazon, Goodreads, Barnes and Noble, and BookBub. Readers are required to post a review as part of the deal for getting to read your manuscript for free. It’s a great service, and can lead to lots of excellent reviews, but be warned, many of the reviewers are editors and highly experienced reviewers who will not hesitate to let you know if they find your book worthy of criticism too. Not for the faint hearted, but well worth a look. It’s also a paid subscription. booksprout.co

If you need help to develop your book – from planning before you start writing, all the way through the development and/or production stage – then we have our own online training programs just for you. This includes some hands-on coaching support with Dixie, all the tools and resources you will need to get started, and encouragement to keep going. authorityauthors.com.au

Of course, if you would like to have a total hand-holding experience through the writing, production and marketing of your book, please get in touch directly or review some of the other areas of this website and talk to us when you’re ready to explore your best options.

Finally, if you would like to join us for a FREE session to find out more about what your book and publishing options are on a regular basis, we also offer access to our Authority Author Hangouts or Author Cafe Sessions on the second and last Thursdays of the month. You must register, but they are FREE! We like to think of them as time we make available to answer FAQs. So BYO questions and coffee – come for one or all of the sessions and learn more about how to write, produce, market and get leverage on your book.

Boost your book

If you have a book already but it needs to be boosted up to performing better on Amazon or IngramSpark, please check out our current Amazon Boost options here too. These are limited each month, but well worth applying for if you’re confident that your book can perform much better, or that your current Amazon or IngramSpark listing is not quite as you’d like it to be.
